RAID CHAT PSA
RAID CHAT MEMBERS:
We’re so excited to see the APL continuing to grow! With that in mind, we’re taking a moment to remind everyone to make sure and read through our PSA (reposted below) for the RAIDS chat specifically. It has most all of the dos and don’ts of raiding with an active base this large.
Specifically, our attention has been drawn to those asking raid groups to wait for longer and longer periods of time. Once the time is set, it’s set. We were all more open to this back in the day with less members actively raiding, but nowadays, there’s always another quickly afterward and we prefer the group’s mentality to be more “I’ll get the next one” vs. making each seem so crucial (see #3 in the PSA).
[PSA:] Our chat space can definitely have a lot of people trying to coordinate raid situations at the same time. Somethings to keep in mind:
1. Be as concise as possible. Try to consolidate all the things you want to say into one post.
2. Be sure to be as accurate as you can in reporting. Posting a picture of the egg/raid boss with the timer is a good way to go. Has the gym name, egg/boss tier and time posted. Allowing folks to figure out how much time is left on the raid quickly.
3. READ CHAT BEFORE POSTING. It’s easier to jump into the chat and just say, "Where them raids at?!" than actually scrolling up and reading what’s going on. But doing so adds a whole new line of traffic that’s clogs up the channel when you could take a moment to check up. This prevents you from being “that trainer” who posts, “Hey can y’all wait 5 minutes for me?”, when everyone else who has been following chat has had the start time set for 30-45 minutes. People are nice, but we all have busy lives. Be considerate, please.
4. START AT AGREED UPON TIME. If people set a start time for the lobby, wait until that time to start the lobby. The ONLY time that wouldn’t apply is if all trainers are already present AND AGREE to start timer early.
5. Check/search in the “Gym Pins” chat if you're not sure where a gym is before asking. The location is named there with a navigation link to get you to your raid quickly. We've got a great portion of our more popular spots logged there and it's super convenient vs. clogging chat asking where something is. (We know we don't have them all in there, but there's a good chance we have yours!)

6. Be specific about which raid you are heading to and what start time you will be trying to go for. Helps people discern who is going where faster when there are multiple active raids.
7. Review our community boundaries and refrain from posting raids outside of it.

8. Direct message an admin any questions you have about these guidelines to keep channels clean.
